• May 27 2019 - Simcoe.com publishes story Shipley Enters Race to Replace Nuttall in Barrie-Springwater-Oro-Medonte (Conservative Party Nomination) soon after, the two other conservative nominations drop-out, one reportedly raised 484 memberships stating "It is disappointing that the party does not want a contested nomination election."

• September 20, 2021 MP Doug Shipley wins the BSOM riding again.

• October 22, 2022 (Former City Councillor - Former BSOM MP) Alex Nuttall Wins Mayoral Election for City of Barrie

• Summer 2024 - City of Barrie initiates negotiations and annexation of Oro-Medonte and Springwater lands for Development​

I'll say it again, this raises questions!​

 

​​When you speak to Doug Shipley we encourage you to ask what he would do to protect Oro-Medonte and Springwater's Farmlands and Wetlands in the face of annexation. If his response is that this is out of the Federal government's hands, we encourage you to bring that question to Greg Taylor!

The Green Party has a history of standing up for farmers and their communities! like in 2022 when Ontario Green Mike Schreiner tabled legislature to protect Farmland.

 

We need your help to elect Green representatives who will stand up for farmers and the communities and economies that rely on them! Farming Communities are the most united communities around! Like you, the Green Party understands cooperation, that’s why we are the only party with co-leaders. The importance of community, fiscal responsibility and, of course, the desperate need to protect farmland. I am asking you to give me the chance to stand up for you! I will do everything I can to fight to protect farmland in our community from Development.
